Travellers probably know that when travelling some shit has to happen. To spice it up a bit. Our spice is called "ATM-visa-cards-copying". Some nice guys had put some kind of copying device in ATM and copied* all 3 VISA cards. The money was stolen only from my account(500 €). They were smart, but not smart enough - obviously they mistyped Olga's and Tina's pin number so they only blocked their cards. The lucky winner was from Salvador, Pelorinho. I hope he bought some nice Christmas presents with my money. I would :)
If anyone is travelling to Salvador, the ATM in Pelorinho, next to the restaurant is famous for copying cards, so be careful. You have an alternative to go to Banco do Brasil ATM.
Besides that, everything was OK. More than that, it was great... the best!!! Of course this thing with Visas spoiled a few days, because we had (almost) no money and we were waiting for transfer from our friends. And the timing for that was just perfect - holidays when banks are closed. But we were quite lucky. In the pousada in Lencois there was a guy from Belgium so Tina transferred money to his account via e-bank and than he'd pay to the pousada. And the lady working there was so nice that she landed us some money and we paid her back the same way. In Morro de Sao Paulo it was the same - the owner was from Italy and there was an Italian friend visiting him and again we transferred money to his friend's account in Italy.
Now I have some correspondence to do with my bank. Maybe I'll get some money back. Maybe. They have to investigate the case. It was so funny when I called them. The lady asked if I could prove that I was not in Brazil when those withdrawals happened. Of course I was!!! It hardly began!!!
Well, we'll see. Of course I hope to get some money back but even if I don't, nothing could spoil this amazing experience I had in Brazil.
*By the way... The man who copied is an excellent Brazilian film.
